This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!
Hang on and lemme back track here so you all get what I'm talking about...
We had our first GSA meeting in like a month... so I'm really excited and happy. *YAY*
And one of our members mentioned something about how her sister said that eating a lot of tofu causes cancer. And we're all like "what?! that can't be right." But we decided to google it anyway just for curiosty's sake. And we're scrolling down the page, you know, "'women confused about soy, cancer link'....blah...blah...doesn't apply...OH! Well this applies to us."
This is what the link show up as... "Soy making kids gay."
Seriously? Who spends their time coming up with this crap?!

One Day I'll Live in the Nuthouse...
I know it sounds awful but the reason I love substitute teachers is because they're always clueless. And the sub we had in health class takes the cake.
When some one asked her "How was your weekend?" she launched into a speech about how her daughter spent the weekend drilling holes in cadaver heads with supplies from Home Depot because she was learning to become a neurosurgeon. We also got informed of proper weight management because her neice is a runner and she runs all the time and doesn't eat much and so she isn't managing her weight well.... apparently. The sub never told us her name and it took her nearly 20 minutes to figure out how to work theVCR. While she was trying to turn it on she lectured us on how we had to figure out what we want to do with our lives early on so we can make goals and work towards them.... we all came to the conclusion that the moral of that story was to be successful so we could grow up and drill holes in cadaver heads too.

A Movie Reveiw: Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
SO! I saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist two nights ago; it finally came out on DVD *squeeeeeeee* I've been wanting to see it for a while now. It's possibly my favorite movie of all time, so obviously I want into watching it with some pre-opinion on how it should go.
I'm happy to say i wasn't all that disappointed. I have this notion that books that are made into movies are never as good as the actual books but this one stood up to the test decently.
I loved the casting of Dev. He was my absolute favourite in the movie. I also liked Lethario; I don't know why because he didn't say a whole lot.
I was also really happy they kept the "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" scene mostly intact. It's a really cute scene.
On the other hand however I am very annoyed that they cut out Norah's monologue about Nick's Yugo. It was one of my favorite parts of the whole book. Another thing I'm not happy they cut was the kissing scene between Tris and Norah. I understand why they had to cut it, (aim at your largest viewing crowd and all that) but it was one of the parts of the book where I didn't think Tris was a complete bitch; in the movie since they cut that scene and the one where she and Norah are talking about Nick over a package of cookies, she seemed way too needy and indecisive.

More Than a Rant a Month
The vigil yesterday gave me a chance to talk to Glenn about my family's reaction though and he was totally understanding. He always knows just what to say; I love that guy. :)
Me (finishing my passionate speech about my sis): So yeah, I guess that was my rant for the month.
Him: Oh, you're allowed way more than one rant a month; that's what we're here for!
As a major bright spot in all of this though he finally got his diagnosis!
He also started sketching out a graphic novel. It's in it's early stages yet but I'm much looking forward to how it will turn out; he's very talented.
auf Wiedersehen, for now people!

*Glenn jumps up and down then does a ninja pose*
I'm so happy for him. It's gender dysphoria. It's so great though, he says in a few weeks he'll be able to go to the doctor's and presumably get his prescriptions! In Rememberance
After school yesterday my GSA had a meeting/ vigil for Lawrence King. Most of you probably haven't heard of him as his murder was exrodanarily under covered by the media.
Lawrence was was a 15 year old student in Oxnard, California who was murdered last year on Janurary 12 by a fellow classmate. The classmate pulled out a gun during school and shot King in the head- why?- because King was gay. If you want to know more about this tragic event you can google for "Lawrence King"; a fair amount comes up.

OMG! My family is insane!
Forgive me while I rant for a moment here...
I mentioned the GSA getting together for Lawrence King (more on that later) this afternoon. My mum and sis (she didn't know) spazed out once again.
Sis:(look of horror washing over her face) Oh my god Mom you cannot let her go!
Mom: I thought I told you to stop going to those meetings; you're not really a member anyway.
Sis: Why do you always have to find the weirdest people to hang out with?! If you want to be
weird then just wear freaky clothes like you already do!
Mom: It does seem like you are picky people to hang out with just becasue you want to be "different".
etc....
So needless to say I am very very frustrated right now. And it's really making me doubt myself, you know? If they act like this now when they just don't like the people I'm hanging out with how are they going to react when they find out I'm a lesbian?
*curls up into a contemplative ball*
And on that encouraging note, folks, I'll talk to ya more later!

In the News: Kim Petras
I've been meaning to starting writing a small entry frequently about intresting events in the news. I thought this might be a good topic to start out on. Tell me what you think!
When I heard about Kim Petras the other day I immediatly looked her up when I home to my computer. For those of you haven't heard of her she is the worlds youngest post-op transsexual person. She began reciveing treatments at the age of 12 and now at the age of 16 she has completed her transition. Normally in Germany, (where she lives) one has to wait until they turn 18 to undergo GRS. However her doctors determined that she was ready to undergo the surgery and she recieved it about a month ago.
She is currently pursusing a career in music. I listened to one of her songs and even myself, not usually listening to pop type music has to admit she is extemely talented. I wish her naught but the best of luck!

My (teenage) Bucket List
I've recently become obsessed, and I mean OBSESSED, with making lists. Lists about people lists about music, lists about what I could maybe possibly make with the limited contents of my fridge... you name it. So I finally decided to do something productive with all my list making and write a list I might actually use: a bucket list. Or more accurately a bucket list for my teenage years; you know things I want to accomplish before I turn 20. ewwww I can't believe I'm gonna be 20 in half a decade. *shudder* Anyway here we go.
1. Travel Germany by train (why by train?; I'll tell you why because they're freakin awsome!)
2. Go to a Cinema Bizarre concert.
3. Meet a cute girl; fall in love (cliche I know)
4. Dye my hair some shocking colour, like white or wine red
5. Get into an art school. like maryst or SFFC
6. Spend an entire night in downtown Portland. Call me weird but I love the club lights, the dim street lighting, the cig smoke and the outragous people you see
out at midnight on the streets. Like cosplay. :)
7. Come out.
8. Write a song and perform it somewhere.
9. Camp out in the Saturday market with my guitar all day. See if I make any money.
If you guys have any suggestions tell me! I'd love your imput.

Awsome, Awsome Night.
So on Saturday me n my friends went out to see the Veer Union in concert at the Zone. It was fairly empty because of the shooting last week... (i guess people were afraid to come?) but in my mind at least that made it all the more cool because it was such an intimate setting; we actually got to talk to the band after the set was over. :) That part was very exciting, Crispin is extrodanarily friendly. The band that opened for them was sooo talented. They were called The Next Train to Elsewhere and they were only high school aged. The vocalist, Matty is very lucky to have such an astounding voice at such a young age.
This is the Veer Union. Unfortunately i couldn't find a pic of The Next Train to Elsewhere because my stupid school's firewall blocks Myspace. >:( I promise I'll find one for you soon and post it.
